On March 12th, more than one hundred volunteers, including Binjing property management staff, proprietors, and community officers, joined the “Plant a Tree for the Asian Games” Arbor Day event beside the lake in the rear hill of Qiandao Lake East Coast and planted 400 gingko trees, 100 cherry trees, expecting the pink cloud of cheery blossoms in spring and the yellow gingko leaves in autumn. The tree planting event aims to add some “green” energy to the Asian Games and grace the city, the shared home of everyone.
Have you ever seen Liriope cymbidiomorpha (ined) which will grow purple flowers in patches in summer, creating a calming and healing ambience? Liriope cymbidiomorpha (ined) is a kind of groundcover and is hardy, shade tolerant, and waterlogging tolerant. In Jinhua Golden Landing, there’s a shady place where the survival rate of plants is very low. Suggested by the landscape architect Guo, the property management staff called on proprietors and children and together planted over 1000 Liriope cymbidiomorpha (ined) plants in the shade. It was a tiring but joyful experience. Many children are expecting these plants to flower and be their companions during their growth.
Scraping a hole, putting in the plant, filling and watering are a routine process of tree planting. In Quzhou Chunjiangyue, property management staff planted more than 60 trees on the Arbor Day, including peach trees, cherry trees, kumquat trees, and Camellia azalea trees. The cherry trees and Camellia azalea trees were still in bloom and had white and red flowers on them and there were still fruit hanging on the kumquat trees when they were planted. What the property management staff planted were not only trees but also hope for the future.
Fraser Photinia trees were specially planted in Hangzhou Xixi Pearl on the Arbor Day to add more “green” to the residential quarter and improve the environment. According to project director Wei, the collective tree planting activity gave property management staff of all departments a chance to experience the tiredness of and understand the wishes carried by tree planting and strengthened their awareness of environment protection.
In Hangzhou The City Star, a proprietor exchanged a bag of recyclable plastic bottles for a cute succulent plant, announcing the start of the green life. Some proprietors also traded in used batteries for new ones. With the purpose of getting ready for the Asian Games and building a green home, the Arbor Day activity reflects the significance of environmental protection and low-carbon life in another way.
