Vigilantes of Xixi Huacheng Were Commended for Intercepting 1,000 KG of Illegally Transported Fireworks Before the New Year!

Before the New Year, Yan Maolin and Liu Hongwei, both vigilantes of Binjiang Property serving at Xixi Huacheng residential quarter, identified a suspect with a large quantity of fireworks in their vehicle within Xixi Huacheng. Immediately, they took action to pursue the suspect while reporting the situation to Wuchang Police Station, and finally caught the suspect and intercepted the fireworks.
On February 19th, to recognize their exemplary actions and boost morale, the Wuchang Police Station in Yuhang District issued a public commendation for the heroic actions of Yan Maolin and Liu Hongwei and presented the two honorary medals and cash rewards in acknowledgement of their dedication and decisiveness.
At around 3:00 a.m. on January 25th, while the city was still in slumber, the property management staff of Xixi Huacheng residential quarter in Hangzhou Wuchang Subdistrict were aware of possible unloading of fireworks and firecrackers within the residential quarter when reviewing the surveillance video. Prior to this, the property management staff had received a notice from the community emphasizing the significance of overseeing the sale and storage of fireworks.
With a sense of duty, the surveillance room immediately alerted the vigilantes Yan Maolin and Liu Hongwei and asked them to investigate the situation. As soon as they arrived, they were noticed by the suspect, who quickly fled in his vehicle. Yan Maolin and Liu Hongwei pursued immediately and reported the situation to the Wuchang Police Station for coordination. Successfully, they managed to force the suspect’s vehicle to stop before the police officers arrived. According to the preliminary investigation, the suspect was illegally transporting a total of 59 boxes of fireworks, weighing 1,120.5 KG.

I’m very proud to receive this honor. You can’t imagine how significant the safety hazard that 1000 kilograms of fireworks can pose! As a member of the order team, it’s my duty to safeguard the residential quarter, and it gives me a sense of fulfillment to help out this time. I really appreciate the trust of the police officers and the assistance from the property service center. This honor comes with heavy responsibility. If anything threatens the safety of the residential quarter in the future, I will not hesitate and will be the first one to step up!

That was a dark night. When we found out that the vehicle was loaded with a substantial quantity of fireworks, we all knew that a fight to safeguard our residents had begun. After contacting the police station, we didn’t slack off for a single second until the police officer arrived and took control of the situation.
This honor means a lot to me. It is the highlight of my career and will be a driving force pushing me forward. It makes me believe that even the smallest roles with dedication can become a fortress protecting the safety of the residential quarter.
Property management personnel are guardians of not only residential quarters but also the city. In police-security-community joint governance units, they remain steadfastly at their posts, exerting their utmost in the minutiae of their duties and shining light in the darkest of corners, ensuring safer residential quarters and giving residents a stronger sense of security.
