Planting trees is a deed that creates benefits for not only our generation but also future generations. With a practical mind, Binjiang Property advocated its projects to “plant trees for our home and exchange books for greenery” for Arbor Day. Many projects responded enthusiastically and organized tree planting and book-for-potted-plant activities for this special day. These activities were warmly received by both adults and children, who actively joined the team of environmental protection to contribute to the greening and beatification of their residential quarters, jointly making their homes a nicer place to live. This spring, let the gentle breeze blow for us, bringing the vitality of greenery and spreading the fragrance of books.
Hangzhou Haiming Yayuan
The property management service center of Hangzhou Haiming Yayuan, in collaboration with Xinhong Community and other units, organized a tree planting activity on the eve of Arbor Day. There, greening staff showed planting techniques and guided over ten children in planting golden euonymus, passing the idea of eco-friendliness through a series of hands-on activities including loosening soil and planting saplings. At the end of the event, over 50 saplings of golden euonymus were planted in the green space on the west side of the residential quarter, which not only beautified the environment but also allowed children to feel the growth of life through hands-on work.
“It is so much fun to plant trees. I can’t wait to come back and see it when it grows bigger!” said a second grader.
Quzhou Moon Bay
On March 9th, the service center of Quzhou Moon Bay held a special family tree-planting activity where 25 families came together and, in a vibrant atmosphere, planted 26 giant-leaved boxwoods through teamwork. During the activity, parents and children worked hand in hand, sharing the joy of labor.
Some parents said that the tree-planting activity was not only fun but also meaningful and that they would bring their children to water and fertilize the saplings to allow the children to experience the joy of growing together with these young trees.
Hangzhou Lansong’aofu
The book-for-potted-plant event for Arbor Day in Hangzhou Lansong’aofu was held on the afternoon of March 9th. Under the curious and expectant gazes of the children, carefully selected old books were exchanged for pots of vibrant green lives. At the end of the event, 38 residents exchanged a total of 138 old books for 46 pots of colorful succulents full of the vitality of spring.
The property management staff promise that they will carefully categorize these old books and add them to the reading corner of apartment complex to enrich the variety of books and provide residents with a platform to share knowledge and exchange ideas.
Hangzhou Xingmanli
In Hangzhou Xingmanli, the service center held the book-for-potted-plant event on the morning of March 9th. At the event, over 30 residents donated 100 books and received 33 pots of plants as rewards. Children were also given the opportunity to plant their favorite succulents in pots themselves. The books donated by residents this time will all be used to build the children’s reading room on the open floor of Building 5. Let the spring breeze embrace us with green plants in our hands. This event was extremely popular among residents, drawing participation that far surpassed any previous events.
Hangzhou Lake Villa
On Arbor Day, residents of Hangzhou Lake Villa gathered at the clubhouse entry with books, waiting to exchange their books for green plants. Succulents and books symbolize vitality and hope. A primary school student got a pot of spring-like succulents with three extracurricular books and said, “I will take good care of them and will bring more books for more plants.” In less than an hour, the service center gave away over 30 pots of succulents and green plants to over 20 residents in exchange for more than a hundred books, which will be later placed at the bar area of the clubhouse for residents to enjoy leisurely.
Shanghai Wisdom Park
To promote the concept of green life and environmental protection, the service center of Shanghai Wisdom Park prepared 100 pots of succulents for the Arbor Day event on March 12th. The residents showed great enthusiasm about the event and donated nearly 20 books in exchange for cute succulents within a mere 10 minutes. The property management staff stated that these books would all be donated to the reading room of the neighborhood committee to benefit more residents.
This event is an effective practice of not only resource recycling but also neighborhood communication, and residents are expecting more meaningful activities like this.
