The “Voice of Vitality” Flea Market initiated by Binjiang Property in April gradually rang down the curtain after the solar term of the Beginning of Summer in May. To vitalize the flea market, the event set up stalls of diverse themes such as Family Joy, Neighborhood Friendship, Flowering Beauty, Go Go Go, Silver Hair, Love for World, and i-Property. In addition to enthusiastic proprietors who signed up and chose their stall themes early, the property service centers also set up their own spots. To draw in shoppers, vendors showed their unique talents and ideas and prepared not only carefully chosen idle items but also various interesting promotional activities to enhance the shopping experience.
Proprietors enjoyed this low-carbon, environmentally friendly trading event to the full, hoping not only to find good homes for their idle items and unique creations but also to make the experience fun and exciting for everyone. The flea market, brimming with “novelty, uniqueness, and quirkiness”, proved to be a fantastic gathering where people pooled their energy and reaped great rewards.

The team of this year’s Binjiang Property Flea Market continued to grow. According to data from multiple service centers, the 16 creative stalls in Hangyuan Imperial Mansion attracted enthusiastic participation from over 200 residents; the 27 stalls in Yiwu Splendid City, which were 8 more than the number of applicants, together created an exceptionally lively event atmosphere. What’s more, in Shanghai Wisdom Park, there were over 40 stalls, offering almost everything from books to balloons, mung bean jelly, hand-dyed fans, and ring toss games. To boost business, many stallholders took the initiative to prepare reward activities such as free gift giving and ring tosses. Many stallholders achieved single-day sales exceeding 300 yuan, earning them the title of top seller in their respective residential quarter.

In Hangyuan Imperial Mansion, the stall themed “Children’s Wonderland”, featuring blind toy boxes and self-service claw machines, became the hottest spot with daily sales exceeding 300 yuan. Besides, the “Yunxi Grocery” stall selling Nezha toys also gained in popularity. According to the property service center, the flea market deeply integrated resource recycling with experience enhancement, not only extending the lifecycle of items but also creating a vibrant platform for neighborly bonding. Family Joy-themed stalls were the majority in many residential quarters. To cultivate children’s trading skills, many parents chose to step back as a guiding role and let their children be the stall manager. In Hang Yu Lan Ting in Hangzhou, many stallholders designed their own posters and displayed a variety of second-hand items. Among them, the Nezha stall attracted the most customers. The little stallholder carefully prepared toys, books, and handicrafts and actively cried out for customers with a crisp and cheerful voice, finally earning 65 yuan in a single day. Residents are especially grateful to the property management team for organizing this flea market event, which allowed their children to enhance their social skills and communication abilities and understand the exchange between goods and money through real trading experience.

The flea markets in different residential quarters featured different themes, thus creating a vibrant and colorful overall atmosphere. Among them, the Flowering Beauty theme stood out and infused the flea markets with trendy Chinese aesthetics. In Hangyuan Imperial Manion, there were residents displaying decorative pieces and showcasing their calligraphy skills on site, exuding a strong artistic vibe and showing the charm of traditional Chinese culture. In Lansong’sofu in Hangzhou Xiaoshan District, a calligraphy and painting enthusiast set up a Silver Hair stall, where he displayed his own calligraphy and painting works to gauge market reactions. It did attract many audiences, but no transactions were made. Nevertheless, simply showcasing his works at the flea market was a courageous first step, and making his works appreciated by more people was already a successful start.

Though advanced in years, the stallholder retains a childlike heart, which is the very essence of a youthful spirit. At the flea market of City of the Dawn of eastern Hangzhou, the stall that ranked third in popularity was a Silver Hair stall owned by an enthusiastic and sincere elderly lady who enjoyed a pleasant time sharing children’s stories with customers. At her stall, there were always pedestrians who paused to flip through books and enjoy a moment of reading pleasure.

In Fengxi Yunzhu Mansion in Hangzhou Yuhang District, an elderly stallholder deliberately chose the theme of “Go Go Go” instead of “Silver Hair” to highlight his aspirations for this flea market. The stall featured branded handbags, neatly folded clothes, shoes, and trinkets, reflecting the stallholder’s sophisticated lifestyle. He made several transactions that day and expressed his hopes for more activities like this to circulate unused items at home and make efficient use of resources.

A self-proclaimed “Buddha-like” middle-aged resident had his marketing strategy work out and sold over 20 cakes, beef rolls, coffee, and ice cream, easily boosting the day’s turnover to over 300 yuan. It’s true that delicacies are always irresistible. The flea market event was widely recognized by the residents, who found it very meaningful.

At this year’s Flea Market, the property service centers also had their own stalls to showcase their creativity with a variety of offerings such as cotton candy, popcorn, and grilled sausage. These familiar treats can easily arouse our happy mood. There were also service centers that chose to make a difference. For instance, the property service center of Hangzhou Lansong’aofu chose to sell homemade fruit jelly for just 2 yuan per cup and the property service center of Hangyuan Imperial Mansion provided not only free cold drinks but also ice cream at 3 yuan each, which were all very popular.

The i-Property stall at Hangzhou Mansion established a point system, under which children can buy candies, toys, and other gifts with the points they earned by telling stories, reciting poems, sharing idioms, and engaging in English conversations.
