On June 27th, Party branch of Binjiang Property New City Area carried out an Party building activity themed on the CPC Founding Day on July 1st and organized a tour to Yucun Village in Anji, the birthplace of the theory of “Lucid Waters and Lush Mountains are Invaluable Assets”(“Waters and Mountains” theory), for its Party members and Party activists.

It was a rainy day, but it didn’t affect the excitement of the group. Along the village roads that Xi, the general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC), had walked through, Party members saw with their eyes the construction of beautiful new village and vividly felt with their hearts the practice of the general secretary’s “Waters and Mountains” theory in Anji.

“Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets”. Today at Yucun Village in Anji, there are green mountains, flourished forest, exuberant bamboo groves, and a clear river from the mountain. It is hard to imagine that it was a barren village with flying sand and rolling peddles and unruly waters over ten years ago.

When got off the bus at the entrance, the group were attracted by the beauty of a summer southern village where green is everywhere and lotus in the pool are in full bloom. Along the wide and plat road into the village, there is a giant tawny stone engraved with “绿水青山就是金山银山(lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets)” standing at the entrance. It is exactly the well-known park of “Waters and Mountains” site.

According to the introduction of the scenic area, people learnt that instead of the original rough development way, such as mining operations and cement works management, Yucun Village started to practice the green development concept more than ten years ago and successfully changes its environment from messy to neat and pleasant. Yucun Village becomes the first village listed as beautiful village in Anji County and also a scenic spot famous all over the country. That is how Yucun Village got on the “green, wealthy, and beautiful” road of development.

In this tour at Yucun Village, Party members visited the main street and went deep into the development history, local customs, ecological economic development, and future construction planning of the village, not only appreciating the pleasing scenery of waters and mountains at Yucun Village but also reviewing the spirit of general secretary Xi’s “Waters and Mountains” theory.

Through this tour, Party members are deeply aware that happiness doesn’t come easily and that realization of a beautiful village requires great struggle and efforts. All Party members should always remember their status, firm the idea and belief, stay true to the Party’s original aspiration and founding mission, earnestly learn and understand Xi Jinping’s thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, have a deep understanding of the new era, the new mission, and the new journey, and enhance the responsibility as Party members.
