Carnations and Mother-made Clothes Stood out on This Year’s Flea Street of Binjiang Property

Carnations, the flower of Mother’s Day, and mother-made clothes, books, socks, toys, fudge, and homemade tapioca pudding and milk tea are all best sellers of this year’s Flea Street of Binjiang Property.

While some residential quarters such as Hangzhou Myriad Star, Haiyujinghua, and Quzhou Moon Bay took the lead in this year’s “Listen to the Spring” Flea Street of Binjiang Property in late April and early May, many other residential quarters including Hangzhou Golden Dawn, Yunheting Zhuxuan, Gingko Art Mansion, Myriad City, Yupinwan, and Quzhou Chunjiangyue launched this event on May 9th, which was the Mother’s Day of the year. 

Flea streets of Binjiang Property residential quarters were all very creative. In the event teaser, the event planners of Binjiang Property’s brand management department encouraged proprietors to make hand-painted posters, name their booth names creatively, and attract customers by promotions. The teaser also stressed that appealing products are the most important subject of the flea street to satisfy varied demands of customers.


Property Management Staff of Yunheting Sold Carnations for Charity

Stewards of the service center of Hangzhou Yunheting did a lot of preparatory work for this year’s flea street event. Except for stallholders of last year’s flea street, they offered an invitation to every family with children. Besides, to diversify the products, stewards negotiated with stallholders over supplies and helped stallholders to build their own booth features and take advantage of business opportunities.

On the flea street of Yunheting, proprietors could surprisingly find many different commodities such as reference books, self-made journals, stationery, jelly beans, home-made cakes, and even energy-saving products like solar fans and solar robots made by children themselves. To attract more customers, stallholders pulled out all the stops. Many of them offered free gifts and some also held various gift-giving games such as ringtoss. There were also little stallholders cried out for customers infectiously and did entice many customers. 

Surprisingly, the carnation booth of the service center of Yunheting realized a profit of 330 yuan at the event, which is fairly good. The customer of the booth were mostly children who bought their mothers lovely carnations for Mother’s Day with the money they earned by themselves on the day, which could be the most moving moment of the day for mothers. 

It is a two-way street. The service center of Yunheting joined the Binjiang Property love team and used all the money from the sale of carnations to buy books for children in Tibet as a way to transmit their love.

There was another charity booth named “Peach Booth” in Hangzhou Haiyujinghua. The stallholder placed a small signboard at the booth that read “One yuan for each, all income will be donated for charity” and attracted a lot of proprietors.




A Handy Mother Sold Self-made Clothes on Flea Street in Gingko Art Mansion

At the same time as Yunheting’s flea street event, over twenty proprietors in Gingko Art Mansion also set up booths for their own flea street. Creative stallholders and their children had many different ideas about their commodities, and homemade clothes, second-hand books and toys became the star products of the day. In particular, the 4-pieces-for-100-yuan clothes made in advance by a dexterous mother specially for the flea street sold very well. 



In Hangzhou Myriad Star and Yupinwan, many children took up the position as a stallholder. Encouraged by their parents, they cried their wares, bargained with customers, and cheerfully concluded transactions. 


A Child in Golden Dawn Came up with the Holiday Marketing Strategy

In Hangzhou Golden Garden, a boy, guided by his family, came up with an idea to take advantage of the holiday and sell carnations on Mother’s Day. Such idea made his booth a popular booth of that day’s flea street and brought him a profit of more than a hundred yuan. In Quzhou Moon Bay, low-margin mass-market socks and homemade tapioca pudding were the most marketable products. And in Quzhou Chunjiangyue, booths attracted customers by various means such as hand-painted posters, the low-margin and limited-time marketing strategy, and even rabbits.

It is only at the event that you can feel the real fun of flea street. Although it’s not an easy thing to select and decide on idle items to be given up and sold, it’s an interesting thing to share good things as well as the happiness brought by such things with neighbors and to see idle things needed again.
