In July, Hangzhou Noble Lake chose Beginning of the Great Revival for its open-air film festival. As a specially-produced movie for the 90th anniversary of the foundation of the Communist Party of China, it was the most expecting movie and was most screened at this year’s open-air film festival on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party.
There’s an age difference of more than thirty years between the two movies screened by Hangzhou Grand Palace. The Garland Under the Mountains directed by Xie Jin in 1980s told a story of defending the country and protecting the people and was more favored by elderly proprietors. And The Climbers starred Wu Jing was more popular with young proprietors.
The open-air film festival of Hangzhou Riviera Mansion was held on July 16th. The service center prepared My People, My Country for proprietors, together with popcorn, cola, Sprite, mineral water, popsicles, and mosquito repellent. It was also a red movie and attract over 200 proprietors, including many children and their parents, to feel the close connection and shared destiny with our country and the patriotism.
In Hangzhou Yupinwan, the service center screened My People, My Country and Leap in the east and the west area of the residential quarter respectively in July and attracted about a hundred of proprietors. To the delight of many proprietors, the summer open-air movie night brought back their joyful childhood memory. “It is a good way to appreciate red movies again and is very meaningful for the education of next generation.” “Today’s life has not come easily. We all should make our own contribution to the further development and improvement of our country.” Proprietors were very content with the red movie screening which satisfied the cultural and movie watching demand of proprietors and enhanced the neighborhood communication at the same time.
The service center of Quzhou Chunjiangyue screened The Red Detachment of Women and Fighting North and South at Youli Pavilion on July 10th and 11th respectively and drew over 60 proprietors in total. “I can still remember that in my childhood, people would bring benches to a square nearby to watch an open-air movie together. I’m so glad to relive the old movie watching experience and recall my childhood memory,” said Ms. Yang, a proprietor of Quzhou Chunjiangyue.
