Exciting! A Binjiang Property Person Was Elected as a Torchbearer for the Hangzhou Asian Games!
Since the official start of torch relay for the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou on September 8th, the flame has been relayed through numerous cities in Zhejiang Province, sparkling a craze of viewing the torch relay. The ignition and relay of the torch is also the ignition of the public's passion for sports and the relay of cultural beliefs.
“The tide surges in the vast East China Sea, as Zhoushan sets sail towards the future.” On September 13th, 170 torchbearers participated in the torch relay in Zhaoshan. What makes Binjiang Property staff particularly proud is that among the torchbearers, the 12th torchbearer is Xia Zhenhui, the assistant director of the service center of Kunlun Mansion, whose emotions surged like waves at the glorious and sacred moment of torch relay.
Xia Zhenhui returned to his work in Hangzhou on the next day and turned the excitement of torch relay into passion for his work. After returning back to Hangzhou, Xia Zhenhui recalled his torch relay memory and said, “I was very excited but also a bit nervous to have such a rare chance of being a torchbearer for the Hangzhou Asian Games. As a Zhoushan native, I only hoped that I could do my part well in my hometown to add glory to both my hometown and the Hangzhou Asian Games.”
Before being a torchbearer, Xia Zhenhui has been a life saver. Xia Zhenhui obtained the Certificate for Red Cross First Aider and became a professional first aider in his college years and has twice received emergency requests via “i120” app and rushed to the scene to save lives.
In 2019, he performed CPR on an elderly man over 70 in a nearly community until the arrival of an ambulance. In 2020, after joining the workforce, he again performed CPR on a nearby electric worker who had got an electric shock and escorted him to the hospital. The latter one was widely reported by People’s Daily, Chinese Red Cross, Zhejiang News, Hangzhou Daily, and many other media, receiving widespread praise from the public.
Xia Zhenhui’s stories of racing against time and rescuing people around him have touched many people and brought him many “Best” honors such as “Best Ten First Aiders in China”, “Best Property Manager in China”, “Best Zhejiang People”, “Best Hangzhou People”, and “Best Hangzhou Volunteer”.
Over the three years, Xia Zhenhui has visited many communities and schools with the Red Cross volunteer team to give first aid training and taught first aid knowledge and skills to employees of many property service enterprises.
Although Xia Zhenhui has not been with Binjiang Property for a long time, he has been highly recognized by service center colleagues and proprietors for his solid professional knowledge and high enthusiasm for work have. Working at Binjiang Property allows Xia Zhenhui to realize the significance of execution in terms of property service and master the people-oriented, problem-solving-centered work method. “At the service center, I’ve learned that the seemingly basic security, cleaning, greening, maintenance, and customer service are actually a profound knowledge of service,” said Xia Zhenhui.
The experience as a torchbearer for the Hangzhou Asian Games has brought Xia Zhenhui a deeper understanding of the innovation of “passing on the torch”. It is all about “from civilization and to practice”. The torch of the Hangzhou Asian Games is named “Eternal Flame”, signifying the Chinese civilization passing on from generation to generation. There’s also a need for inheritance in the workplace. We must strengthen the basic property services covering security, cleaning, greening, maintenance, and customer service, adhere to the company tenet of “Proprietor First, Service First, Quality First”, and acknowledge and embrace the company culture to align actions with company’s principles. We should share good examples with colleagues and start from within with a firm goal ahead.
Torchbearers for the Asian Games not only relay the torch but also ignite the life of others.
