When the order foreman You Zhanzhan who climbed a window to rescue left the scene, his colleague captured his leaving figure. In the picture, he was covered in dirt, a testament to his dedication and commitment. “Since I’ve chosen this job, I have to be on the front line, and it’s my duty to protect all residents,” said You Zhanzhan.
Both the family of the rescued elderly couple and the villager committee of Guniangqiao presented silk banners to the property management staff. On May 28th, Mr. Zhou, the security director of Guniangqiao villagers committee, delivered a silk banner to the property management team on behalf of the committee, commending Binhong property management staff for their brave fulfillment of their responsibility of safeguarding the safety and property of the residents in the face of the fire.
At 8:56 on May 20th, Hu Zhengguo in the monitoring room of Guniangqiao Mingyuan received a fire alarm and immediately notified the patrol officer Liu Haiyang to verify on-site. When Liu Haiyang arrived, he noticed white smoke coming out from inside. He knocked on the door, but no one answered. The monitoring staff promptly called 119 and reported the situation to the project director. Assistant Tang rushed to the scene without delay, and the customer service foreman Zhang Liu also got in touch with the proprietor and learned that there were two elderly residents there.
In a life-and-death situation, Tang, the property assistant, noticed that the bathroom window was open and instructed You Zhanzhan, the order foreman, to climb through the window into the house. After getting into the house, You Zhanzhan first saw an elderly man fast asleep. As he woke and assisted him toward the bedroom door, detected flames from the stove through the thick smoke, with a pressure cooker still boiling on top. After settling the elderly man on a chair, he risked his own safety and rushed into the kitchen to turn off the stove and then opened the front door, allowing the property management staff waiting outside to rush in and perform the rescue.
Amidst the thick smoke, Tang and Zhang Liu found another elderly woman who was still sleeping. The property management staff promptly transferred the two elderly individuals to the hallway, and the customer service foreman quickly opened all the windows for ventilation.
When the 119 arrived, the property management staff had already handled the scene well. Their prompt and appropriate actions not only saved the lives of two elderly people but also minimized financial losses to the family, earning them high praise from both the elderly couple but also the onlookers.
