It’s autumn now and there’s not much time left in 2020. Nevertheless, firefighting awareness should never be abandoned.

Reviewing the firefighting work in residential quarters served by Binjiang Property over the past nine months of this year, it is found that fires mainly occurred at high-rise and low-rise balconies, high-rise kitchens, and stores. Owing much to timely smoke discovery and alarming by careful patrols of frontline members and proprietors caring about the neighborhood, these fires were put out at the initial stage by swift and competent micro firefighting station members and the life and property safety of proprietors and residents were thus protected.

But, at the same time, improving the firefighting awareness of property management staff, proprietors, and tenants in their daily life allows of no delay.

As the old saying goes, “training of thousands of days is for just one emergency.” To enhance the building firefighting facility management, improve the fire resistance of buildings and make sure the building firefighting facility can give full play to its firefighting capability, the engineering technology department of Binjiang Property organized the fire safety and firefighting skill training at Hangzhou Sam Firefighting Vocational School from September 18th to October 14th. Totally 170 project managers and responsible persons from its service centers attended this training in four batches by a single training term of 2 days.

The training combined theoretical learning with practical operation with the emphasis on the latter. Through this training, trainees mastered and enhanced the theoretical knowledge about basics of firefighting, fire safety management, building fire prevention, firefighting laws and regulations, and early-stage fire treatment and made it clear that the working policy of firefighting is to combine fire prevention and fire fighting with the emphasis on prevention and that the goal of micro firefighting stations is to put out fires as early as possible.

Trainees also learned that it is a citizen’s liability to report any fire and that people’s awareness of fire alarming should be further enhanced – except for reporting a fire to 119, it is of the same importance to notify neighbors and evacuate in time.

During the training, instructors stressed the prevention of electrical fires. All families should be alert to possible fires. Electrical products should be stopped using beyond their service life to avoid short circuits; aging wires should be timely replaced; quality sockets should be used within their capacity; a safe distance should be kept between electrical products and combustible articles; electrical products such as hair dryers, electric irons, and washing machines should be unplugged immediately after use.

There’s a whole set of very noticeable red automatic firefighting system in the practical operation classroom, allowing trainees to have a more direct understanding of the basic composition, working principle, and practical operation of the system. With the instruction of the instructor, trainees operated various bus and multi-line applications on Songjiang and Haiwan fire alarm control panel. For many of these project managers, it was their first time operating a fire alarm control panel. Though very nervous, they cherished such a rare learning opportunity a lot and experienced practical manipulation of the fire alarm control panel with all their quick-reaction capability exerted.

To better strengthen their knowledge of machine manipulation, many earnest trainees carefully observed every trainee’s manipulation performance and were able to guide others properly.

To do firefighting work well, it requires us to be steadfast and to improve the firefighting knowledge and awareness of everyone and master the fire fighting and fire escaping skills well at the same time. Firefighting is the common responsibility of all members of society.

The dry weather of autumn makes firefighting so important that people should be more alert and vigilant and eliminate potential safety hazards in time. Guaranteeing fire safety is the first step toward a good life.

The first fire safety class in this autumn further strengthens the general arrangement and supervision and management of fire safety of all projects of Binjiang Property. Trainees are all responsible to communicate firefighting knowledge with and help and guide others to practically guarantee the fire safety of various projects and enhance the overall firefighting competency of Binjiang Property.
