Binjiang Property organized the first flea market community event in Shanghai Wisdom Park and surprisingly attracted 54 families to set up their stalls on the big lawn, including 18 co-managed by parents and children, 30 set up by young proprietors, and 6 set up by middle-aged proprietors. The stalls were like giant flowers blooming on the lawn, making the event a great spring gathering.
This event gave proprietors of Shanghai Wisdom Park a chance to make full use of their camping equipment. Many camping carts were used to store idle articles and camping mats were used to display various products, bringing a special camping aura to the fair.
To attract more customers, the stallholders came out with many ideas, such as shooting Ultraman for toys and ring throwing. Actually, the classic ring throwing game appeared in many participating residential quarters in Shanghai, Jinhua, and Quzhou on the same day.
Articles displayed by Shanghai proprietors during the flea market event were all carefully selected, and every stall had its own clear position. Food stalls selling grilled sausages, chicken filets, yogurt, and beverages, a bookmark stall selling 10-yuan calligraphy bookmarks made on site by a kid confident about her calligraphy, and a stall selling handmade mugwort sticks were very popular with customers and were the first to sell out and close their stalls. The proprietor selling mugwort sticks even replenished some from his/her home to satisfy the demard of customers. In addition to these stalls, there were also books, slot cars, toys, handmade woven flowers and other products, each had its own customer base.
Proprietors of Shanghai Wisdom Park recognize the great significance of this event as it not only brought joy to children but also strengthened communication, eliminated the strangeness but promoted intimacy between proprietors, and expect more events like this to enrich children and parents’ holiday life and improve neighborhood relationship.

“I hope there could be more events like this in the future to make idle articles useful again, which is green and environmentally friendly, and increase our interactions with neighbors. It also gave children a convenient chance to experience managing a business. It is very good for their growth,” said a proprietor and also a stallholder.
A proprietor of Building 12 in Hangzhou Yurun Qianchaofu has a favorable comment on the theme, atmosphere, and product quality of the event and suggests more exchange of idle articles and rigidly demanded learning supplies to further diversify the commodities of the flea market.

The service center of Hangzhou Jiangnan Mansion held the “Asian Games and Environment Protection” flea market event at the residential quarter’s badminton court on the afternoon of April 22nd. The event was warmly accepted by proprietors and created many green stallholders.
19 proprietors set up stalls, and the sound of stallholders’ hawking and customers’ bargaining made the site very bustling. A proprietor put up the advertising slogans “Stall, No Stalling; Not A Jobholder, But A Stallholder; Born Talented Not Only in Lying Flat”. The internet buzzwords used somehow reflect the true thought of commuters nowadays. Even at the flea market, only hard workers will bear fruit.
The stallholders include parents and their children, the elderly enthusiastic about public welfare, and young couples pursuing fashion and knowledge. There were miscellaneous idle articles in the market, including children’s favorable Ultraman cards, romantic dolls given to each other between couples, and handmade woven shoes. According to the trading data, toys were the most popular products, followed by children’s books and handmade woven shoes.
At the flea market, there was a sunny boy who set up a stall by himself. Within half an hour, not only did he sold out all of his toys but he also got the toy he wanted. “I’ll go home and tell my mom how good I am!” said the boy proudly.
Ningshui Community was also interested in the flea market event in Jiangnan Mansion and placed the “Everyone’s Asian Games” publicity board at the site to create the atmosphere of welcoming the Ascian Games. According to a proprietor who was also a participant of the flea market event, the flea market event effectively put into practice the green and environmentally friendly living concept of resource recycling, helped develop the environmental awareness of proprietors, children especially, and allowed children to experience the “fair trade”, “happy work”, and “joy sharing” in the process of trading and exchange.

Hairpins to be sold at Tang’s Stall were all made by the child and her mother themselves and were the best seller at the flea market with the record of 8 successful transactions.
At the flea market, children displayed idle handmade stuff, toys, and calligraphy and painting works neatly at their stalls for exchange or rummage sale. Binjiang Property also prepared sweet popcorn for children, which was proven a good idea. Parents accompanying the small stallholders praised the idea of flea market as it helps children understand the difficulty of making money and allows children to make more friends, building not only their courage but also their self-confidence.

The first flea market in Quzhou Honor Signature announced its opening, and many proprietors collected idle articles from home and brought them to the property building for sale. Looking at unpopular dolls at the stall, the two upset girls suddenly came up with a good idea, “Let’s do ring throwing!” With the conversion of the sales mode, the dolls were soon sold out.
